Peter Brown has been on the gridiron for the majority of his life. He started his career with the London Jr. Mustangs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL)
When Brown began high school, he decided to suit up for the Catholic Central Crusaders of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA).
This summer, the London athlete will represent Team Ontario in the Football Canada Cup tournament in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
It’s with the Crusaders that the lineman experienced last season’s highlight.
”The highlight of my last season was definitely winning OFSSA as I hadn’t won a championship before, and having the opportunity to both start and win in a championship game was a dream of mine.”
The standout lineman plans to play at the university level. In order to achieve his goal, Brown puts a lot of work in the weight room.
”I am currently working out at Powerhouse Training Systems, working on my speed, power, and strength in order to play at the next level.”
Playing in the next level is not the only motivation he has. The Crusaders lineman finds inspiration within his family, specially his brother.
‘I wouldn’t really be able to narrow it down to one person in my life who is the most influential, but if I had to choose it would really be anybody in my family. This is because they have all had in insane impact on my life.”
”In football the most influential person to me is my brother (David Brown), as I look up to his work ethic on the field. Even when he would be injured he never stopped working hard to get back to where he was before the injury and get better every time he touched the field.”
With graduation in 2017, the offensive lineman already has plans for his future.
”In school I plan to continue to work hard and keep it as a priority in my lifestyle. Career wise I would like to do something within medicine if possible.”
Brown is still in the early stages of the recruitment process, he mentions he is open to all universities.
”The recruitment process has been really good thus far, Team Ontario has gained me a lot of interest from schools in the next level of football.”
”I plan to setup visits or talk to any university which contacts me, I’m keeping all of my options open.”
Meanwhile, the standout lineman is getting ready for his upcoming season.
”This season I will be playing for the Jr. Mustangs in the OVFL league, at the same time I will be going to the weight room almost every day to get stronger and help me rise above the competition.”
