On Sunday afternoon at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Shawn Lukusa scored a nine yard touchdown as Team East to a 27-6 win over Team Halton-Peel at the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge.
Julien deCarufel sneaked into the end zone for a 1 yard major to increase Team East’s lead 8-0 late in the first half.
In the third quarter, Lukusa added to Team East’s points with his major.
Within the first minute of the fourth quarter, Team Halton-Peel got on the scoreboard as Liam Keary sprinted into the end zone for an eight yard score to cut the deficit 15-6.

However, that is as close as Team Halton-Peel would get. deCarufel would score his second touchdown of the game – an 11 yard major in the final frame. Soon after, Vincent Goulet put the game out of reach with a nine yard rushing major.
Team East had 17 first downs as opposed to Team Halton-Peel’s eight.
For his efforts on the field, Team East linebacker Lukusa was named Big Kahuna Sports Company Game MVP. Moreover, Team East running back deCarufel was chosen as Spalding Offensive Player of the Game while Team Halton-Peel’s defensive tackle Mitchell Price was Russell Athletics Defensive Player of the Game.
