That figures to change this weekend when the two top teams in the league clash for the second time this season. The last time these teams met back on August 11 they dueled to a 31-31 draw at Caledonia Park in Nanaimo. This Saturday the scene shifts to McLeod Stadium in Langley where the Rams are undefeated at 3-0 this season and, barring the unlikelihood of another time, one of these teams will emerge in sole possession of top spot in the BCFC standings.
Both the Rams and Raiders bring identical 5-0-1 records into Saturday’s tilt which kicks off at 4pm.
Elsewhere in the BCFC, the Westshore Rebels (5-1) will look to climb up to second overall in the standings with a victory on the road over the winless Chilliwack Huskers (0-6) at Exhibition Stadium. The game also goes on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 2 pm.
The final game of the weekend is also a Saturday affair and could have significant playoff implications as the Kamloops Broncos (1-5) visit the Okanagan Sun (1-5). Both teams enter the week tied for the final playoff spot and this will be the last chance these two clubs will meet head-to-head this season.
The Sun have a much more difficult schedule in the final three weeks having with games against the Raiders and Rams on tap compared to the Broncos who will get to face the Huskers twice in the coming weeks so this game figures to be a virtual must-win for Okanagan if they want to have a realistic shot at making the playoffs. Game time is 2 pm at the Apple Bowl.
