Rick Maloney, the man responsible for starting the football program at Brother Andre high school (Markham, ON), passed away last evening.
Rick, an avid football fan and coach (who attended many Grey Cups including the 100th), wanted to continue coaching after he retired from teaching. Rick played his collegiate ball at the University of Western Ontario and served as a guest coach with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats during their 2006 training camp.
Rick was part of the original Brother Andre staff when the school opened in 1985.
Rick is survived by wife Jackie, son Ryan and daughter Breanna. From all the CFC family our condolences. More information will follow.
