Morgan started playing football when he arrived at high school with the Leaside Lancers. Morgan has done an outstanding job balancing school, athletics and other extracurricular activities. In 2008 he was the MVP of the Leaside junior team that won the city championship. In 2009 he was Leaside junior athlete of the year and participated in the Football Canada Cup (Saskatoon), starting for the gold medal winning Team Ontario East squad. In 2010 he won the senior Lancer team MVP and was awarded the “Mike Bradwell Award” presented annually to the Leaside Lancers Senior Football Player who achieves academic excellence and excels in the sport of football by demonstrating leadership, commitment, sportsmanship and skill. In 2010 he was the most improved player for the Varsity Toronto Thunder.
His most memorable football experience was the “whole Leaside High School football experience continues to be a significant part of who I am as a football player and a person. Starting with the Coaching staff – head coach Jim Georgiadis, Csaba Vegh, and others are the ones who stand responsible for honing me into the athlete that I am today. In addition to this, the camaraderie I experienced with my team-mates, gave me the desire to work hard in practice, so that I could go out and perform in games. This dedication Leaside had is the reason why I feel we won the TDSB Junior City Championship in 2008, and visited the TDSB Senior City Championship in 2010. Chances like these build character, and teach life long lessons.”
Most influential person: “I would be lying if I said the most influential person in my life was some professional athlete, who I would probably never meet. This is why I would name my Mom (Christine Hains), as the person who I look up to the most as a role model in my life. Originating from the tragedy of my father passing when I was at the age of 11, my Mom has devoted herself to support my two brothers and I in every way possible. The work ethic that she displays is a trait I would someday wish to match. I feel this will allow me to become whoever I want to be, whether it is to play in the CFL one day, or to take on a role as CEO of a company.”
Morgan was highlighted as a Toronto Star athlete and City TV athlete of the week for rugby. He currently has an 87% average while participating in the school’s football, basketball, badminton, and rugby teams. Not only an athlete, Morgan is President of the Leaside Athletic Association which requires him to organize the school intramurals and other events like grade 9 activity day, the clothing program and Terry Fox run. Not finished there, Morgan has a major interest in art. His talents as a painter have won him top standing in an art competition (2nd annual TDSB Centreal Technical School Invitational exhibition).

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
