Danny started playing football at 8 years old with the Huronia Stallions Football Club as a running back in the house league division with his father as coach. After 4 years of house league in the Stallions Pony division he went straight to the Rep Peewee Division as a quarterback for 2 years and made it to the Championship game both years. He played 1 year as a receiver in the Junior Varsity program and during that year was asked to move up to Varsity. In his Grade 9 high school year he was a receiver and then in grade 10 played as quarterback and made it to the finals of the GBSSA region. Grade 11 saw Dan switch back to receiver and won the GBSSA Championship making the winning catch (top picture) and receiving game MVP.

Most memorable football experience “I would have to say is when my high school Bear Creek Secondary school won the GBSSA Championships. The game was intense, as the game was close in score, against our rival’s Eastview Secondary school, our quarter back went down in the 3rd quarter and had to be taken away by ambulance. Our back up had to step in and only until the late in the 4th quarter we were down in score, that’s when he through me a corner pattern. I jumped up as high as I could and with one hand came down with it to win the game. It was the most amazing feeling. With barely any time left on the clock coach put me in as safety and I made a interception which helped lock in our win.”

Most influential people in football and in life “would have to be my dad (Dan Sr.) , my two coaches Martino Disabatino and Sam Loucks (picture above). All 3 have been a huge part of my life and in my football career. My dad has supported me and coaches me continually in football and in life keeping me on the right path. He trains me during my off season with his weight and conditioning training program. I have great family support from my mom ( Liane ) and my older sister (Alyssa). I don’t think they have missed any of my games since I started playing football. I’ve been with Martino and the Stallions program for over 10 years; he has been a great role model and coach. Sam Loucks, my high school coach, is a great influence on me to be a great person and to respect the game of football. I’ve had a lot of great coaches over the years, my junior high school coach Jamie Wootton, and my stallions receiver coach Greg Van Bolderen.”

Dan also play Royals rep basketball and has won the Mr. Hustle award all 4 years. He enjoys basketball and participating in track and field at his high school. Last 2 years he has made the OFSAA 200 meter hurdles. He is a dedicated athlete who trains long hours and works hard at his academics. His goal is to attend and play football at university.
