EFAF names 2011 European junior championship all-tournament team


The European Federation of American Football (EFAF) named the All-Tournament offense and defense teams for the 2011 EFAF European Junior Championship.

The biannual event features the top American football players aged 19 and under from six countries – Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Spain and Sweden – battling for the right to call themselves European Champions in Seville, Spain from August 28 to September 3.

2011 European Junior Champions Austria led the way with 8 players selected, followed by France and Sweden with four players each. Horst Obermayer of the Ausria was named Head Coach of the tournament.

Germany, Denmark and Spain each had three total all-stars selected.

Austria defeated France 24-12 in the Gold-Medal game while Sweden claimed the bronze medal beating 2008 champions Germany 21-14. In the fifth-place game, Denmark won 41-3 against Spain.
