Cambridge Wolverines off to Litzen Bowl game

The Cambridge bantam red Wolverines capped off an undefeated season with an impressive 38-16 victory over the Mississauga Warriors Saturday in the Southwestern Ontario Football Association of Leagues championship last weekend.

The Wolverines would score on their first series, with Alex Salytchev outrunning the secondary for a 25-yard touchdown run.

Mississauga tied the game on their next possession, but Brayden Hill hit Mitchel Weiler for a 15-yard score.

The Warriors answered again, but after a half-hour delay when the lights went out, Hill hit George Monaghan on a 49-yard reception to put the Wolverines ahead for good. Salytchev would wrap up the first half with his second major of the game off an interception to make it 30-16 at the half.
Cambridge’s defence held Mississauga scoreless in the second half, while Hill would throw his third touchdown pass to Weiler on a well-executed play to seal the victory.

The Wolverines now face Burlington in the T.Litzen Bowl.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
