BCFC Tier 2: North Delta & Vancouver Victorious in Week 2

Week 2 of the newly established BCFC Tier 2 league kicked-off between North Delta Longhorns vs. Burnaby Lions and Vancouver Trojans vs. Richmond Raiders on Sunday April 15th at Minoru Park in Richmond.

North Delta led themselves to victory with a 22 to 9 score. Despite the lose for Burnaby, the president of the team Mike Carney said, “The Lions had some bright spots in a difficult day. Lions fell behind, but then roared back with 2 touchdowns in a row. North Delta came back with 2 touchdowns off of Burnaby Mistakes, to take a 11 point lead which they never relinquished.” Mike Carney gives prop to Mickey Carney -QB and Safety- for leading the team in rushing yards with 29, throwing 200 yards, and scoring 2 touchdowns. He also gives prop to Michael Spencer for leading the team with 7 receptions for 2 touchdowns. Mike Carney advocated that Matt Newlove -DL- “had an outstanding game with 3 tackles and 4 assists” and considered Jon Dododza and Matt Jeffers to have played well.

Vancouver gave themselves a pat on the back as they led to victory with a 28 to 6 score of Game 2. The head coach (Juvenile Division) of the Vancouver team Mark Laird thanks his players including Matt Gill -RB- for finding the running lanes and Rudi Uhl -DL- for disrupting 4 catches that would have been scores for Richmond. He simply blocked and knocked the ball down. Overall, Mark Laird indicates that players do need to perform well because BC junior football coaches are watching the BCFC Tier 2 games which will run until May 26th with a championship game.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
