Jr. Argos overwhelmed

The JV Toronto Jr. Argos are 1-1 after playing the Peterborough Wolverines on Sunday. The final score was 40-6, with the Wolverines dominating the majority of the game.

“It was a tricky game,” Says head coach Derek McDonald. “We played a good first quarter but quickly ran out of gas. We couldn’t do anything.”

The Jr. Argos were disappointed after having high expectations at the beginning of the season. The loss was an accumulation of a bad week of practice due to the weather, travel and simply not playing up to par with Peterborough.

“All the credit to Peterborough,” Says McDonald, “They have a good quarterback and running back and they did a good job.”

The Jr. Argos are looking forward to a good week of practice to bounce back against Huronia next weekend. “The season is already a quarter finished and now we know where we stand,” comments McDonald.

Huronia is 2-0 after beating the Oakville Titans 27-14. The Jr. Argos will have to get back on track if they hope to move back above .500. So far the Jr. Argos are perfect at home, and they will be looking to continue that streak this Sunday at 2:00PM at St. Michael’s College.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
