The Cumberland Panthers faced the rain and the Kingston Grenadiers this weekend. The rain and both teams high energy created an action packed game. As a result, both teams relied on the run game early and often. A back-and-forth affair resulted in a tight game and tight half time score of 7 to 6.
Thompson Richards and his offence maintained there stride and composure but the conditions were poor for any kind of passing game. The ball seemed to be slipping through the Panthers fingers and receivers were not able to complete the necessary passes when thrown in their direction.
The difference in the game was a ‘safety touch’ conceded by the Panthers in the second half. Despite key running plays by Cederic Ky, Devin Brazeau, and a sack by Daniel Omara the hometown team lost to the visiting Grens’ 9 to 7.
