“Excellence is tolerated but perfection is expected.”
That was a comment from QBFL Elites Head Coach Stephane Nadon as the team was preparing for their opening game in the under-17 category at the 2013 Wilson Challenge. QBFL Elites are the defending champions.
“In the last three years, we have played in the final winning twice and losing one year by two points in a last minute,” explained Nadon.
The team will be coming into the tournament not only with tons of confidence but are considered a dangerous team because they are fast.
Offensively, the team will be led by quarterbacks Conors Sinclair and Etienne Goulet. Nadon said that both pivots will see playing time throughout the tournament.
The strength of QBFL Elites comes from their potent running game.
“We strongly believe that we have the best 5 running backs of all the QBFL teams,” added Nadon. “Any one of them can make the difference in a game.”
“I would say that our slotback Marcus Mitchell is our best all-around football player we have as he has good hands, is one of our best runners and possesses great special team abilities.”
Ultimately, the QBFL Elites hope to make a statement at the 2013 Wilson Challenge.
“We are the only city league players in this tournament,” said Nadon. “All the other teams are school teams.”
“We would like to show ALL that the QBFL league is the best under-17 league to play for.”
QBFL Elites begin defence of their title at the 2013 Wilson Challenge on Sunday morning, when they battle Outaouais. Game start is 10:00am.
