Quebec to play Saskatchewan

Quebec will play its first game at the Football Canada Cup on Thursday, July 18 at 7:30 (6: 30 pm, Eastern time) against Saskatchewan at Rocky Stone Field in Moncton, NB.

The Quebec team consists of the top 40 athletes under 18 in the province.  Quebec won the gold medal in 2011 and 2012, and was exempt from the first round of the tournament this year.

Team Saskatchewan won the opening match of the competition Monday afternoon against Nova Scotia by a score of 16-0. According to Brad Collinson, head coach of the team from La Belle Province, “it is a solid team with big, strong athletes who perform well fundamentally.” The Quebec team will have to prepare for “perfect execution of the game plan and play with good intensity. This is what we need to win against Saskatchewan following the bye we had in the first round, “said Collinson.

If the Quebec team wins its match against Saskatchewan on Thursday, it will move on to the final of the Football Canada Cup Sunday, July 21 at 7:30 (6: 30 pm, Eastern time) and will defend the title for a third year consecutively.
