OVFL: Ravens blowout Ironmen; On Verge of Clinching Conference
Despite a somewhat slow and sluggish start, the Ravens were able to find their game, and stream roll through the Hamilton Ironmen on route to a 41-7 win.
The Ironmen were able to come out and quickly establish a 7-0 lead. The Ironmen would hold on to their lead for quite some time before Eli Fera would return a punt 60 yards for a touchdown and tie the game up. Eli Fera would score once again on a 1 yard td run, and the Ravens would add a single point and would take a 15-7 halftime lead.
The second half was the complete opposite of the first half as the Ravens came out on fire and would score early and often. Running back Cody McCann would score two consecutive touchdowns to give the Ravens a 28-7 lead. Quarterback Brandon Reaume would then connect with Matteo Del Brocco on a 40 yard td pass to increase the lead to 35-7. Mikey Fillipic would round out the scoring with a touchdown run of his own.
Defensively the Ravens were extremely strong as they would hold the Ironmen to under 100 yards rushing and a total of 163 yards.
Next up for the Ravens will be the Halton Cowboys on Saturday July 20th, Kickoff is at 7:00pm. With a win the Ravens will clinch 1st place in their conference and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
