Here is a summary of the action in the u-15 division :
Rive sud de Quebec 21, Laval-Lanaudiere-Laurentides 8
Running back Bobby Fiset led the way rushing the ball 11 times for 168 yards as Rive sud emerged victorious over L-L-L 21-8. L-L-L was held to only 45 yards on the ground for the day. Louis Cavanagh led the way for L-L-L with 8 tackles on the day and added a Quarterback sack. The game was evenly fought with Rive Sud pulling away at the end.
Equipe Metro Scolaire 37, Monteregie 6
Quarterback Kelley Brossard led the way for E.M.S as he had 7 rushes for 121 yards , 2 touchdowns on the ground and also added 3 touchdown passes on the day. Brossard finished the game with 162 yards in the air as his offence frustrated the Monteregie defence both on the ground and in the air. Their defence held there ground forcing turnovers and keeping Monteregie contained between the tackles.
Monstars 20 , Esthrie Centre du Quebec 7
The Monstars running game proved to be the deciding factor in this contest as they rushed for 221 yards compared to the opposition’s 77. Monstars Running Back Cedric Deusma led the way with 148 yards on the ground and added a touchdown in the victory. Esthrie had a good defensive day however, with Boka Cedric Kouao having a monster day with 18 tackles and 1 forced fumble showing Esthrie was still a great football team.
Montreal Metro 32, Elites WMFL 7
Montreal Metro showed a great passing attack in their first contest as their Quarterback Julien Vallee found multiple receivers open ending the day with 144 yards and 3 touchdowns.Running back Eric Beausoleil-Lemoins added 76 yards on the ground as they made short work of their opponent. Charles Liberman led the way for WMFL as he had 13 tackles and 3 Quarterback sacks on the contest.
L-L-L 35 , Monteregie 0
L-L-L ‘s Quarterback Vincent Forbes Mombleau had his coming out party as he threw for 158 yards and 3 touchdowns , added 83 yards rushing and a td and also caught a 31 yard touchdown pass in the victory over Monteregie. Their defence also kept Monteregie’s rushing attack to -10 yards on the day. They took control early and never looked back. L-L-L improved their record to 1-1 and Monteregie moved to 0-2 in the loss.
Elite WMFL 29, M.E.C.Q 12
WMFL Quarterback Alex Stathis had a great night leading his troops to their first victory of the Wilson Challenge as he threw for 141 yards and 3 touchdown passes. They out rushed their opponent 136-46 and it proved to be costely in the long run as time of possesion became a factor in the football game. WMFL moves to 1-1 with the victory.
In the under 17 division, all teams came out hard as expected and left fans on the edge of their seat as the nations football future was under display.
Here is a quick recap of the u-17 division:
E.M.S 20 , Nova Scotia 9
EMS Quarterback Jonathan Mayne threw for 121 yards and added a touchdown pass in the victory over a nova scotia team who showed some promise. The game was hard fought and could have gone either way. E.M.S eventually pulled away with their well balanced offense who out ran their opponents 184-35. Nova Scotia however had success throwing the ball as Quarterback Cameron Valardo threw for 164 yards in the loss.
L-L-L 23, Outaouais 0
L-L-L improved to 1-0 with the victory as both teams exchanged long drives and had success. Outaouais simply could not seem to get the ball in the end zone as the L-L-L defence seemed to shut them down when it mattered the most. Cedric Forbes Mombleau had 8 tackles and a sack and proved to be one of the tournaments elite players.
Elites QBFL 22 , M.E.C.Q 0
Kevin Rodolphe led the way for the QBFL as they won their first game of the tournament. His 72 yards rushing and touchdown proved to much for the M.E.C.Q defence. The QBFL defence also shut the door and held the opposing offence to only 70 total yards on the day. They forced turnovers and made the M.E.C.Q punt on various occasions and dominated the overall time of posession.
ELITES DE QC 36 , Rive Sud de QC 7
Gabriel Duval Vezina led his troops to victory as he kept the opposing defence on their toes and found his open receivers all day. When the final whistle blew , he threw for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns. Kick returner Charles Olivier Michaud also had a great day adding 183 yards on returns giving les Elites de QC some great field position to begin all of their drives. Their defence held the Rive sud offence to 66 yards passing turning their offence one dimensional.
Action continues throughout the week with many good match-ups yet to come. For any football fan, this is great football to watch if in the Area.

Tournament news:
The big news is the opening match of the tournament in the Under-17 (U17) category that will be held in Quebec (Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon) between South Shore (Champions 2011) and Elites Quebec (returning in the tournament after a year’s absence).
Again this year, eight teams in both the Under-15 and U17 age categories will compete for top honors at the most prestigious football tournament in Quebec. Over 900 players and 150 coaches will attend the 16th edition of the Wilson Challenge. Nova Scotia will be entering a team in the U17 category.
