New head coach Mike Samples will run practices Tuesdays from 6:30-7 p.m., Wednesdays from 7:30-9 p.m. and Thursdays from 8:30-10:30 p.m. as well as Saturdays from 12-4:30 p.m. through the month of July.
The Braves hope to make significant improvements across the board this season with the additions of players such as quarterback Mack Blewett of St. Mary’s University and defensive lineman Addison Marks of McMaster.
Linebacker Rich Beckstead and team MVP Brody Essery, a receiver, are back in pursuit of the team’s goal of challenging for the league title.
“It’s about the players… it’s their team,” said Samples, a former Canadian Football League player and assistant coach, who replaced Neil Lumsden, now the team’s player personnel director. “We will go as far as they are willing to go.”
