The varsity Bears lost 49-14 to Essex being held scoreless in the first half by a dominating Essex team. The bears did tighten up in the second half making stops on defense and scoring two touchdowns, finishing with heart.
The varsity Bears will enjoy their bye week this week and take time to prepare for the Niagara Spears on the 6th.
JV
The junior varsity Bears did not fare any better against Essex, but are looking forward to the game against Newmarket this Friday (29th).
Both teams are now in a do or die situation as they make a run for the playoffs.
The next four game will be the test for the V and JV Bears, let’s hope the teams can turn things around on the road and make a run to give Guelph playoff football this summer.
