OFC Players of the Week (4): Sewell, Barry & Frame

The Ontario Football Conference announced their Players of the Week for Week 4.

Offensive Player of the Week
Quarterback #6 Kyle Sewell – Hamilton Hurricanes

Leading his first place Hamilton Hurricanes football team to a 36-3 victory over the previously unbeaten Windsor AKO Fratmen, QB #6 Kyle Sewell had a solid performance by scoring one rushing touchdown and throwing 16 for 33 and 208 yards, which included zero interceptions and two touchdown passes, earning Kyle the honours of Week 4 OFC Offensive Player of the Week. Kyle is 21-years old and is a second year player on the Hurricanes. According to the Hurricanes organization, Kyle has definitely asserted himself as the starting quarterback. He plays with confidence and makes great reads. During the game against the Fratmen, Kyle avoided turnovers and stood in the pocket against a very strong blitzing team.

Defensive Player of the Week
Defensive Back #3 Jacob Barry – Hamilton Hurricanes

Helping his Hamilton Hurricanes football team defeat the Windsor AKO Fratmen by a score of 36-3, DB #3 Jacob Barry had a dominant performance on defense, as he racked up an impressive 18 points, which consisted of seven tackles and one interception resulting in a touchdown, earning Jacob the honours of Week 4 OFC Defensive Player of the Week. Jacob is 21-years old and is currently in his final year with the Hurricanes. According to the Hurricanes organization, Jacob is the kind of player that the coaches have all learned to rely on. He knows the assignments of the entire defence, and he’s had a great first half of the season. Jacob is a major reason why the Hurricanes defense hasn’t given up more than one touchdown in their last three games.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Kicker/Punter #10 Bobby Frame – Hamilton Hurricanes

Helping to lead his team to a stunning victory over the Windsor AKO Fratmen by a convincing score of 36-3, K/P #10 Bobby Frame continued to showcase his dominance, as he grossed 386 yards off of nine punts (long 51), and 466 yards off of eight kick-offs (long 70). Bobby also went 5-for-5 on single point conversions with an additional single point added for a combined total of six points on the day. Bobby is only 19-years old and is a first year player with the Hurricanes. According to the Hurricanes organization, Bobby has been a real difference maker in his rookie season. He can change field position in the Hurricanes favour with one kick. Even though he’s a special teams athlete, Bobby is already considered as one of the league’s best offensive weapons.
