CFC Ranks: CJFL top 10 (4): “Beefs’ best start since 1990” (VIDEO)

It was ‘bye week’ for both the British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) and the Prairie Football Conference (PFC).  The Ontario Football Conference did play games and saw some important events happen.  The Brampton Bears won their first game ever, an overtime ‘nail-biter’ that saw the Bears attempt and win the game on a 2-point convert.  The London Beefeaters continues their strong play, going 4-0 for the first time since 1990.

Defeated Windsor AKO Fratman 37 to 11

Defense played tremendous in the win, accumulating 8 sacks.  Leading rusher Kyle Woldenberg-Puyda, was hobbled by a heel injury, but back up Joel Clubine stepped in and had 117 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Travel to Ottawa in hopes of extending their streak.

Defeated Twin Cities Predators 29 to 7

Ryan Kotar has over 100 yards on the ground and Anthony Pizzutti had over 100 receiving yards.  The defense had 6 sacks and 4 interceptions, including 3 ‘pick-six’ touchdowns (Connor Hitchcock 2, Jake Campbell).  Tough test this weekend against the Fratman who are coming off a lose to the Beefs’.

Defeated Ottawa Sooners 25 to 11

Caught ‘off-guard’ by a good football team from London, the AKO hope to rebound this weekend against Hamilton.  Combined record of opponents they have beated is 2-10.  Will be a good test.
