CFC Top 100 pivot Liam Putt led CFC # 26 Assumption Lions to a Central Western Ontario Secondary Schools Association (CWOSSA) championship title on Saturday.
The Lions cruised to a 52-15 win over CFC # 6 Jacob Hespeler Hawks.
Putt connected with Andre Toic twice for majors including one for a 32 yard score. Additionally, he connected with his brother Emmett three times in the game for touchdowns. Among the scores was a 28 yard major in the second quarter and a one yard major.
Putt got into the scoring with a one yard dash into the end zone. Ben Crocock also tallied a major.
As for the Hawks, CFC TOP 100 pivot James Roberts left the second quarter of the game with a broken fibula on his right leg.
In relief of Roberts, Jackson White found Simon Beeksma for a 20 yard major. Kevin Pham scored a 10 yard touchdown in the opening quarter.
With this victory, the Lions advance to the OFSAA Bowl Series where the team will battle Westdale Warriors, who are representing Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (SOSSA), on Wednesday November 27th, 2013 in Etobicoke. Kickoff is 1:00pm.
