BC High School Notable Performances: Jana’s offensive machine, Tesch & Cape’s first impressions, Legge’s menacing ways

BC HIGH SCHOOL NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

  • St. Thomas More QB Jalen Jana had 96 yards rushing and threw for 127 yards, including two touchdowns, in his team’s 34-0 victory over Notre Dame.
  • John Barsby’s RB Cole Virtanen played a crucial role in a 34-22 win against GW Graham retuning the opening kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown and scoring on a 26-yard run.
  • South Delta’s QB Lucas Kirk threw 11 of 13 successful passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns to lead the team to a 31-0 win against Seaquam.
  • Mt. Douglas rookie RB Nolan Tesch, in his first football game of his life, rushed for 85 yards and scored two touchdowns in a 52-0 win against St. Forks (Washington).
  • WJ Mouat LB Dion Pellerin had a team-high eight tackles in a 46-13 win over Robert Bateman.
  • New Westminster DL Ebrahiem Farroghi and RB Jordan Guzman combined for the winning points when Farroghi blocked a Centennial punt which was picked up by Guzman for a touchdown in an 11-6 victory.
  • Kelly Road QB Garrett Cape, a JV running back who had to step in to play quarterback, went 8-for-17 for 164 in the air and had another 68 yards rushing. He threw two TD passes in the 26-17 win over College Heights.
  • Mission RB Joeda Cannon rushed for both of his team’s touchdowns in his team’s 45-14 loss to Lakeside (Wash.). He finished with 65 yards on 10 carries.
  • South Delta REC Michael Mann had two 35-yard catches for touchdowns from QB Lucas Kirk as part of a 31-0 shutout win over Seaquam. Mann finished with six catches for 124 yards.
  • West Vancouver QB Finn Morales threw for two touchdowns and went 13-of-21 for 242 yards overall in his team’s 35-28 win over Sentinel.
  • Vancouver College DB Matt Legge had 13 tackles in a 44-7 loss to O’Dea (Seattle).
  • Pitt Meadows RB Jan Cabrera had 125 yards rushing and scored both of his team’s touchdowns in a 14-7 win over Mt. Boucherie.
