It was quiet week in Northern Saskatchewan Football with only one game being played.
Opening the week on Monday, the La Loche Lakers who have overcome so many challenges this season, were unable to replay the rescheduled game against the Green Lake Spirits. With several injuries, both the Lakers and the Buffalo Narrows Eagles have called it a season and will not proceed with playoff participation. The only other game that was played occurred on Thursday in La Ronge, where the Wakaw Warriors prevailed with a 20-16 win over the hometown Chargers. Kris Leiffers scored two touchdowns and Shea Lea added another for the victorious Warriors. Connor Boyes replied with two touchdowns for La Ronge.
Looking ahead to next week, with a teacher’s convention being held, all Northern Saskatchewan Football teams have a week off. Playoffs will commence on October 20th with the Senator Myles Huskies travelling to Creighton to take on the Kodiaks. On October 21st, Sandy Bay will travel to Cumberland House, while the Beauval Voyageurs will be in Green Lake to take on the Spirits.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
