| TORONTO – Marquay McDaniel, Keon Raymond, Swayze Waters and Quinn Smith were named the Canadian Football League Players of the Week for Week 20 of the 2014 Canadian Football League season.The four players were chosen by a panel of judges including: former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Calgary Stampeders slotback Marquay McDaniel was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week 20. McDaniel tallied 12 receptions for 165 yards as Calgary concluded its regular season with a 33-16 victory over the Lions.
In his first game back since Week 12, McDaniel set new career-highs for both receptions and receiving yards in a single game.
The Virginia Beach, Virginia native’s big game helped the Stamps gather some momentum as the team heads into the Grey Cup Playoffs. Calgary is set to host the Western Final against the winner of the Western Semifinal tilt between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Edmonton Eskimos.
McDaniel, who is tied for the all-time lead in touchdown receptions at Hampton University, had quite an impressive year, despite only suiting up in a dozen contests. His 792 receiving yards place him eleventh in the league to go with his four touchdowns.
Playing in his sixth season in the CFL, this is McDaniel’s first career Player of the Week honour.

Keon Raymond

Calgary Stampeders defensive back Keon Raymond was named the Defensive Player of the Week for Week 20. Raymond filled the stat sheet by recording seven tackles, an interception, a special teams tackle and forcing a fumble in the Stampeders’ road victory over the Lions.
The former Middle Tennessee State standout’s seven tackles matched a season-best. In the fourth quarter with the Lions threatening on the Calgary 22-yard line, Raymond intercepted a Kevin Glenn pass and returned it up-field for 43 yards. The timely pick set up a Rene Paredes field goal to put the game out of reach.
The seven-year veteran finished the campaign with five interceptions – one shy of the league lead. His 46 tackles on the season place him sixth on the team. Raymond also added a fumble recovery and a touchdown this year – the fourth major of his career.
This is Raymond’s first Player of the Week honour this season and his fourth overall; his last came in Week 20 of the 2012 season.
CFL Special Teams Player of the Week
Swayze Waters

Toronto Argonauts kicker and punter Swayze Waters was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 20. Waters scored 11 of the Argonauts’ 23 points and added nine punts to help Toronto finish out the season with a 23-5 victory over the visiting REDBLACKS.
The former standout from the University of Birmingham Alabama and Toronto’s nominee for Special Teams Player of the Year, notched a trio of field goals from 45, 39 and 22 yards away and added a pair of extra point kicks in the Argos’ season finale.
Waters averaged 47.6 yards on nine punts in the contest, including a 62-yard punt in the second quarter.
The Jackson, Mississippi native topped the league in kicking points with 184, in field-goals made with 47 and in punting average with 47.7 yards (minimum 40 punts). He also finished the season having made 47-of-52 field goal attempts (90.4 per cent) and was a perfect 40-for-40 on extra point attempts.
This is the third Special Teams Player of the Week award of Waters’ career with his last coming in Week 15 this season.

Quinn Smith

Calgary Stampeders defensive lineman Quinn Smith was named the Canadian Player of the Week for Week 20. In Calgary’s final game prior to the Grey Cup Playoffs, Smith tallied three sacks as the Stampeders’ took to the road and came out as victors.
The 2014 seventh overall pick in the CFL Draft wrapped up Lions pivot Kevin Glenn three times – all in the fourth quarter – to send the home team back a total of 15 yards.
The 6’2″ 300-pound, Scarborough, Ontario native recorded ten tackles and four sacks in his rookie season with the Stampeders.
