OUA all-rookie team: 12 CFC 100 make the list

HAMILTON, Ont. – Ontario University Athletics (OUA) is pleased to announce the 2014 Football All-Rookies.

The two top teams in the league, the McMaster Marauders and Guelph Gryphons, had several rookies make major contributions with each team having four of its players named to the All-Rookies.

After having five players receive All-Rookie honours last season, the still-developing Carleton Ravens have three players on the 2014 squad. Like Carleton, the Western Mustangs have three first-year players that stood above the rest in 2014.

The Waterloo Warriors, Queen’s Gaels and Laurier Golden Hawks each have two representatives, while the Toronto Varsity Blues, Windsor Lancers, and York Lions each have one player named to the All-Rookie squad.

The All-Rookie list is designed to identify exceptional freshmen and to give recognition for their outstanding rookie performances. The 2014 OUA All-Rookies were selected by the OUA coaches through a nomination and vote process.

The OUA Rookie of the Year will be announced on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the 2014 OUA Major Awards and Yates Cup press conference.
