The 2012 BC Community 12-Man Provincial Championships turned out to be a banner day for the Vancouver Mainland Football League as teams representing the VMFL swept the three inter-league provincial championship contests while the Midget contest saw the Coquitlam Falcons emerge as champions.
Here’s a look at all four new 12-man provincial champions of the 2012 season.
Pee Wee – Cloverdale Bobcats (VMFL) def. Abbotsford Falcons (VCFL) 22-0
The Cloverdale Bobcats may not have been the most dominant team in the Pee Wee division all season long but they managed to win when the games meant the most.
Facing a Falcons squad that racked up 342 points while yielding just 19 to their opponents over the course of 10 regular season outings in VCFL play, the Bobcats defence came to play in a big way holding Abbotsford off the scoresheet while tallying 22 points of their own in a 22-0 win.

Jr. Bantam – Coquitlam Vikings (VMFL) def. West Kelowna Sundevils (SIFC) 26-20
The VMFL champion Coquitlam Vikings did not suffer a single loss throughout the VMFL regular season and playoffs and that trend continued in the provincial final after they scored a 26-20 win over the West Kelowna Sundevils to cap off their perfect campaign.
The Vikings looked like they might have been on their way to suffering their first and only loss of the season after trailing the Sundevils 14-8 at half-time but opened the second half scoring 18 consecutive points en route to their win.

Bantam – South Delta Rams (VMFL) def. Abbotsford Falcons (VCFL) 37-0
The South Delta Rams were hardly a dominant team during the regular season play but they became a juggernaut in the post-season and it showed in the provincial final.
The Rams scored early and often in the Bantam provincial championship running roughshod over the VCFL champion Abbotsford Falcons en route to a 37-0 victory.
Counting their two VMFL playoff contests and the provincial final, the Rams out-scored their opponents 79-9 overall in three playoff contests and to clearly prove themselves as a worthy provincial champion.

Midget – Coquitlam Falcons def. Langley Stampeders 21-6
The very last football game to be played in the province of B.C. looked to be a close one but that was until the Coquitlam Falcons decided to pull away and dominate.
After a tight first half that saw the Falcons hold just a slim 7-6 lead, Coquitlam took over in the second half racking up 14 unanswered points to run away with the Midget provincial title.
The win proved beyond a doubt that the Falcons were the top team in the Midget division this season despite the fact they officially finished sixth in the league standings during the regular season with a 7-3 record. The three losses on the Falcons’ record were all wins that were taken away due to an administrative error with their roster.
The Falcons cruised through the Midget post-season out-scoring their opponents by a combined 86-30.

Sportsmanship: Liam Stewart (Coquitlam)
Bantam: In the 9-man division if was a game for not just one title but two as North Delta and Richmond played for both the VMFL Championship and the BC Provincial Championship. Although it wasn’t the usual gunslinger style game that the fans have come to expect from the 9-man division it was chalk full of big plays as Richmond went on to a 41-6 victory over the Longhorns.
Atom Division: With the League championship on the line the top seed Richmond Raiders struggled on Sunday to move the ball and the visiting Coquitlam Lions shut down the Raiders on their way to a 20-0 Victory and the 2012 VMFL Championship.
