The Carleton Ravens traveled to Sherbrooke to take on the Vert er or in CIS pre-season action on Saturday. Raven running back Dexter Brown Ravens scored the only two touchdowns for his team, but it was enough point as the Ravens took the exhibition match 16 to 12.
Trailing by four points late in the game, the Vert et or led by 2nd unit QB Mathieu Loranger, had three chances to win the game but were unable to penetrate the Raven end zone.
Both teams mostly used their veterans in the first half. Sherbrooke fifth-year QB Jeremi Roch let the vert er or but three missed field goals by kicker Mathieu Hébert led to halftime score of 7-3 for the Ravens.
Sherbrooke opens their season against Concordia in Montreal on September 4th. Carleton will open their season in Kingston in a weeks time as they travel to take on the Queen’s Gaels.
