BC High School Notable Performances: Theobald & Tholl steer teams to victory

BC HIGH SCHOOL NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

• Argyle QB Cole Theobald had 200 yards in the air throwing three touchdown passes, while also rushing for 107 yards on five carries including a 68-yard touchdown in a 38-7 win over Argyle.
• Handsworth QB Sam Tholl went 16-of-23 for 258 yards and four touchdowns in a 35-14 win over Salmon Arm. REC Jacob Ghazizadeh had a pair of touchdown receptions, while RB John Mooney had 17 carries for 101 yards.
• Vancouver College RB Michael Le had 28 carries for 111 yards and a touchdown en route to being named MVP of the 59th Archibshops’ Trophy game in a 17-14 win over Notre Dame. Luke Avon and Chris Ellis had 10 tackles each in the victory.
• Mt. Douglas RB Declann Michielin had a pair of rushing touchdowns, and a touchdown reception, as part of a 43-7 win over Belmont. He finished the game with 10 carries for 91 yards. QB Gideone Kremler threw three touchdown passes as part of a 114-yard passing performance.
• New Westminster QB Jamie Shiho, returning to the line-up after a two-game absence, rushed for 118 yards on 11 carries while scoring two touchdowns in a 35-24 come-from-behind win over South Delta. RB Jordan Guzman rushed for 82 yards including one for a touchdown, while Gurvir Ghuman led the team with eight tackles and a sack on defence.
• St. Thomas More RB Luca Bellini rushed for 183 yards and both of his team’s majors in a 14-7 win over Kelowna. He also recorded six tackles and a sack as a linebacker.
• Terry Fox’s Isaac Evans had five tackles and four sacks in a 37-7 win over Centennial.
• Carson Graham RB Flynn Heyes rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns, while QB Tyler Nylander also had a pair of rushing scores in a 38-0 win over Nanaimo District.Mitchell Thrift had three sacks and a forced fumble on defence for the winners.
• Holy Cross QB Brendan Fraser threw four touchdown passes in a 34-0 win over Moscrop. RB Cole Barron had a rushing touchdown, as well as led his team in tackles with eight as a linebacker.
• Langley’s Azuka Okoli and Max Joseph each had a major in a 14-0 win over Hugh Boyd.
• Hugh Boyd RB Gabe Saklofsky rushed for 162 yards on 13 carries, and also had an interception on defence in a 14-0 loss to Langley.
• Vernon TB Jonah Anstey had eight rushes for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while QB Justin Haverkamp went 8-of-12 for 129 yards and two touchdowns in a 52-0 win over Clarence Fulton.
• Valleyview RB Hunter Koopmans had a pair of rushing touchdowns in a 12-7 win over Westsyde. DE Clayton Bailie had five tackles and one sack, while RB/LB Brooks Miller rushed for 58 yards and led the linebackers with seven tackles.
• Robert Bateman RB Dawson Davis’ five-yard touchdown in quadruple overtime lifted his team to a 19-16 win over Pitt Meadows. Davis also had 11 tackles on defence.
• GW Graham RB Jordan Breuker had a 54-yard rushing touchdown, while REC Ethan Mastin had a 22-yard touchdown reception from QB Gabe Olivares in a 19-0 win over Mission. K Spencer Breslin had a 27-yard field goal in the contest. Cainen Bergh andDakota Mathers had nine tackles each in the win.
• Mission’s Devin Pott had nine tackles in a 19-0 loss to GW Graham.
