- Three-peat sure sounds sweet doesn’t it? We tried our best to hype up this championship contest, but in the end Weyburn wasn’t feeling a dramatic finish with a convincing 28-8 victory over Central to claim their third straight South Rural league title. Now they turn their attention to retaining the 5A Provincial Championship. The Eagles were crowned the provincial champions in 2021, but were unable to repeat last season falling to Bishop J. Mahoney in a heartbreaker 18-15. Their first step towards redemption will be a 2021 finals rematch against Greenall, who were able to snag their fifth Regina 5A city title in six years with a tight 14-5 win over F.W. Johnson. The Griffins will be eager to prove they can hang with the top dogs in 5A after failing to convert any of their city championships into provincial hardware during their dominant run.
- On the other side of the bracket will be Aden Bowman, who finally found an answer for Bishop J. Mahoney with a resounding 41-14 win to claim the 5A Saskatoon city title. It can’t be understated what this means to the Bears program after losing the last two finals against the Saints, who have always been the premier program in the division winning 10 of the last 12 city championships. This is the first city title for Aden Bowman since 2009 when they still competed in the 6A division (then known as 4A), which was also the last time they touched the provincial trophy. The Bears will now begin to gameplan for their semifinals matchup against North Battleford, who were named the North Saskatchewan league champions after defeating St. Mary 35-21.

- Well that didn’t go as expected. Usually we are enthralled with the rivalry between George McDougall and Cochrane, but the Mustangs couldn’t be tamed in the Rocky View finals in a 36-5 victory over the Cobras to claim their second straight league title. Thankfully it’s not the end of the road for Cochrane just yet, who will now move on to face Strathmore in the South Central Zone playdowns.
- It was supposed to be a clash of the titans, but Holy Trinity Academy didn’t get the memo with an easy 50-0 victory over Strathmore in the South Central Zone playdowns. The Knights will now take on Springbank, who were victorious in the Rocky View third place contest with a 21-18 win over W.H. Croxford.
- Are you surprised? St. Joseph are heading back to the Peace Bowl after cruising past Peace Wapiti 42-6 in the semifinals. The Celtics will be looking to secure their ninth straight Peace Bowl victory against Sexsmith in the finals.
- Like clockwork, Holy Rosary will be competing for another Wheatland Football League championship after dismantling Bonnyville 44-0 in the semifinals. They will be taking on St. Paul, who the Raiders managed to defeat 50-3 during the regular season.
- Hunting Hills have climbed their way into the top 25 after securing their spot in the Central League finals with a 38-23 victory over Lacombe. The Lightning have already secured their spot in the Tier II playdowns, but they won’t need any extra motivation with a showdown against their rivals from Notre Dame (Red Deer) in the championship.

- The first round of the playoffs are in the books, and Deux-Montagnes punched their ticket to the quarterfinals with a 26-14 victory over Saint-Georges. The Centurions are now staring down the barrel at a rematch with Estacades, who handed them their first loss of the season 14-5 way back in week two.

- One. Two. Three. It was a little closer than they would’ve liked, but a second half surge from Lo-Ellen was enough to secure their third straight Sudbury League title with a 27-14 victory over Lively. The Knights will now look to do the impossible in the NOSSA finals, where they will be awaiting the winner of the semifinals matchup between St. Mary’s from Sault Ste. Marie, and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall out of North Bay. No team from Sudbury has ever represented NOSSA at the OFFSA Festival, but this Knights team is well aware of the situation, and would love nothing more than to write a new chapter in history.
- Oakridge are moving onto the TVRA Tier II semifinals after a 35-0 win over East Elgin. It’ll be an interesting journey for the Oaks facing a brand new opponent with Medway standing in their way, who finished the regular season 1-5 in the Tier I Circelli Division.
- Holy Trinity out of Simcoe have earned a spot on the list after defeating Delhi 28-15 in the Non-CWOSSA semifinals. The Titans will now take on Simcoe Composite in the league finals, who they suffered their only loss to in the regular season by a score of 14-7. This will be the end of the line for both teams with no OFSAA eligibility.
