Another week, another new top ten to report.
We had to wait a little longer to make sure our eyes weren’t deceived, but Grant Park are the favourites in Manitoba after handling St. Paul’s this week. It’ll be fun to watch Vincent Massey and Grant Park duel all the way to the finish line this season, and there’s always room for an upset or two down the road.
Meanwhile in Quebec we got another big change up as Saint-Jean-Eudes found a way to defeat former top ten Charles-Lemoyne in a close 23-16 contest. This leaves College Notre-Dame all alone at the top of the standings for the first time this year after squeaking by Academie Saint-Louis in a slim 14-7 victory. We’ve only got one week left of regular season action before the playoffs begin, so stay tuned to La Belle Province for one of the most exciting brackets across the nation.
We’ve got very positive news out of Ontario as our final two stagnant programs are on the move as Huron Heights kicked off their regular season action with a massive 61-14 win against St. Andrew’s College, while St. Marcellinus put together a dominant display in their 49-0 victory against Humberview. Also in the Peel Region we saw St. Roch able to steal a spot on the rankings from Lorne Park after a 30-9 victory.
In B.C. we saw an absolute barn burner between Vancouver College and Mount Douglas with the Fighting Irish able to barely hold on for the 17-14 victory, and their top ten spot. Terry Fox also made headlines in the province with a very convincing 34-0 victory over G.W. Graham, who entered the contest undefeated on the season.
Maybe the biggest story of the week comes from an unlikely source in New Brunswick where Kennebecasis Valley was able to soundly defeat the reigning provincial champions out of Tantramar. It’s a very impressive performance, and could be the sign of a new chapter in Atlantic football with the Titans dynasty on the line.
Lastly we’ve got a good group of new Ontario programs making their first appearance on the list this year including St. Joan of Arc out of Barrie, Frontenac out of Kingston, St. James out of Guelph and the aforementioned St. Roch out of Brampton.

Who’s getting ranked?
For the tenth year in a row, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC) is pleased to bring you the national high school football rankings known as the CFC50.
The CFC50 rankings considers all conference and non-conference games (in Canada and the United States) while scrimmages are not evaluated (there is no such thing as an exhibition game – those are classified as non-conference games) and forfeit* wins are not considered towards overall record.
How is the CFC50 evaluated?
Leagues included in rankings: British Columbia AAA Varsity, Alberta Tier One, Saskatchewan 12-man rural / 6A / Schwann, Manitoba AAA Varsity, Ontario OFSAA Bowl AAA qualified teams, Quebec Juvenile Division 1, New Brunswick 12-man, Nova Scotia (all teams excluding CFC25 eligible teams).
The CFC50 is a RELATIVE RANKING that considers top tier leagues from all eight high school playing provinces (minimum one team represented from each province) and the strength of the league. Additional criteria used to determine the relative ranking are the ability to accomplish winning a championship, the impact players and performers on that team (ie. CFC100s, CDN All-Stars etc.), and a team’s coaching and recent tradition.
The CFC Scouting Bureau consists of CFC Reporters, CFC Scouts, and selected local reporters and scouts who submit local ranking results on a weekly basis. The CFC50 is released every Monday (other than on Holidays) at 12 noon.
