CFL FINES (13): Calgary, Ottawa & BC Lions players disciplined

TORONTO – The Canadian Football League announced today that it has fined the following players:

Calgary Stampeders offensive lineman Pierre Lavertu for chop blocking an opponent during last Sunday’s game against the Montreal Alouettes.

Ottawa REDBLACKS punter Brett Maher for hitting an opponent below the knees on a punt return during last Sunday’s game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. 

BC Lions defensive back Torri Williams for tackling an opponent by his face mask during last Friday night’s game against the Toronto Argonauts. Williams was also penalized on the play.  

As per league policy, the amounts of the player fines were not disclosed.
