CJFL: BCFC “BC Lions Players of the Week” 8

The British Columbia Football Conference is proud to announce their “BC Lions Players of the Week” for Week 9.
The Westshore Rebels were led by a one man wrecking crew on Thanksgiving Saturday in their seventh win of the 2012 season.  Tailback Greg Morris was named “BC Lions Offensive Player of the Week” after an unbelievable performance.  The Ontario native rushed 24 times for 405 yards, setting a new Canadian Junior Football League record for most yards in a single game.  He would also score four touchdowns, including runs of 62 and 91 yards.
The Vancouver Island Raiders secured first place and home field advantage throughout the playoffs on Saturday afternoon in a terrific game with the Langley Rams.  The Raiders defence was led by the “BC Lions Defensive Player of the Week,” Dylan Chapdelaine.  The linebacker would make five solo tackles, three quarterback sacks and an assist on a tackle.  The Raiders will host the Okanagan Sun in a BCFC semi-final on October 20th.
For the second time in as many weeks the “BC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week” is Vancouver Island Raiders kicker Mark Mueller.  The veteran had a terrific night against one of the best teams in the CJFL.  Facing the Langley Rams Mueller was good on three of four field goal attempts, hitting from 24, 32 and the game winning 41 yards out on the last play of the game.  He would also collect five punts for 113 yards and six kick-offs for 22 yards.  Mueller would also connect on two converts
