Commit excited to join renown Carabins

Mikael Arseneau, a wide receiver from Cégep Édouard-Montpetit, knows there is something special about suiting up for your hometown team, especially if it’s named after the city like the University of Montréal Carabins.

“Firstly, I live in Montréal, so it is near my home. The Carabins are very renown, and I really like the coaches. I believe that the Carabins can lead me to an even better level,” Arseneau said. “The coaches are really welcoming, and they really are there for the players.”

When he reaches university, Arseneau plans on going into health security. He said that the certificate will help him later because he aspires to be a firefighter.

Standing at 6’3, 210lbs, Arseneau has spent the last two seasons with Les Lynx d’Édouard Montpetit (RSEQ Division 2). In 2015-2016, he won several awards as a receiver. He was an all-star and was the top catcher in the league. He also played as a kicker.

With his recruitment now over, Arseneau took a moment to reflect on his career. He said that, “My success especially comes back to my teammates because without them I could have never excelled at football.”
