The game progressed with both teams playing conservatively, each trying to feel out the other.
Burlington fell victim early to a few costly turnovers to which the Hurricanes capitalized and managed to silence the crowd with a 22-7 victory.
Hurricane receiver Jordan Brucculeri made numerous key receptions including a TD, while Nate Brown fielded a punt return and zig zagged his way to pay dirt. Kicker Milan added two field goals, while DB Tyler Swick led the bend but don’t break defence forcing a Burlington Safety.
The Hurricanes showed their sportsmanship taking a knee on the Stampeders one yard line with only 5 seconds remaining.
“We are thankful for the win but we are still not playing at our potential” stated Hurricanes Head Coach Rob Underhill. “Burlington is a fantastic football team and organization and we are fortunate to be able to compete at their level.”
“If we face them again, I am sure they will be different team”
The Hurricanes are at home to Clarrington on June 8 at 730pm at Macrae Fields
