Mount Allison bound

Flames defensive standout signs with AUS Conference Champions.

In the coming months, Scott Logan will be headed for Sackville, New Brunswick.

Recently, the 6’0, 205 pound defensive end/linebacker (outside) from Lakeside, Nova Scotia signed with the Mount Allison Mounties for the 2014 AUS season.

There were several reasons why he chose the AUS Conference Champions.

“I chose Mount Allison because first off the schooling is fantastic,” explained Logan of his decision.  “Second off, it was because when I went on trips to other schools they really didn’t focus on me.”

“When I was up at Mount Allison they paid close attention to me. Coach (Scott) Brady and I have been communicating back and forth ever since I went up on my first visit. Scott Brady is also a defensive mastermind with his systems that he makes for players and that was a serious factor in my choice of schooling. Another reason why is that the school reminded me of my high school football atmosphere wise and what I mean by that is that a lot of these guys have never met me before but they still as soon as I stepped into the door were treating me as a friend.”

Additionally, Logan was swayed by some of the current Mounties who have ties to his high school and training facility.

“I really like Mount Allison also for the alumni up there (older Sir John A Flames such as Jon Graves, Quinn Everett, Nick Lauder) because I have trained with them at the Ultimate Factory (Alan Wetmore’s premier training facility) so I know them well,” expressed the Nova Scotia defensive standout.  “Their program at Mount Allison is a great program I have seen the results from the Flames alumni myself to what they have become.”

Logan comes to the Mounties bolstered with championship experience.  This past fall, he guided the Sir John A MacDonald Flames of the Nova Scotia Student Athletic Federation Football League (NSSAFFL) to their first ever Provincial Tier 1 Championship over the Charles P Allen Cheetahs.  In the 2013 season, Logan registered 30 tackles, recorded three sacks, four fumble recoveries, four knocked down passes and five ball strips.
