Oakville takes the win over the Cougars

Again another hard fought close game from our Bantam Cougars. This team seems to start slow out of the gate but turns it on in the 3rd and 4th quarters. However this inexperienced team made another significant jump from our previous game and the best is still in store for this team..
Defensively we were paced by both Maddux Stewart and Kaden Jefferson at the CB position. Alex Jones had another solid game recording 5 tackles and 2 sacks. Defensively we played another solid game. We were physical upfront again just had a couple mental errors that set us back.
Special Teams were solid again on Sunday. Ashton Vink set up a nice onside kick after our TD drive in the 3rd quarter. And Brennan Normandin-Kerr converted a 20 yard fake punt on 4th and 14 to put us in position for our second score. This was a gutsy but well timed call.
Offensively Jack Crow had an excellent game passing the ball as he went 6 for 9 through the air for 90 yards. Ashton Vink and Gabe VanMoorsel had 3 and 2 receptions respectively. Jack also showed great command and leadership all game as well as scoring 1 rushing TD. Ben Church paced our ground game with several big runs and 1 rushing TD. Jaxon Henderson had a decent game on the ground as well with Xander Collins keeping our OL physical upfront.
Alot of positives to take away from this game. We just need to learn how to play with urgency just as we do in the 4th quarter. Once this team learns how to play a complete game… sky is the limit for this group.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
