2015 OFSAA BOWL FESTIVAL SERIES DAY 3 RECAPS:

CFC#31 WESTDALE WARRIORS (SOSSA) 26, ST. IGNATIUS FALCONS (NWOSSAA) 17:
Mitch Garland’s 70 yard punt touchdown return was the difference as CFC#31 and South Ontario Secondary School Athletics (SOSSA) representative Westdale Warriors defeated North Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (NWOSSAA) representative St. Ignatius Falcons 26-17 to claim the Northern Bowl.
This was the first ever OFSAA Bowl victory for the Warriors.
The Falcons got on the scoreboard first when Anthony Valente sprinted down the field for a 74 yard major to give them the early lead. A few minutes later, Brodie Bristovich connected with Liam Garland for a six yard touchdown to pull the Warriors within a point of the Warriors.
After a scoreless second quarter, the Warriors took over the lead after the half when Bristovich found Garland again, this time for a 27 yard strike.
However, the Falcons responded as Kyle Lagrange added a 23 yard field goal and Dray Theriault added a 53 yard run.
After Mitch Garland secured the victory for the Warriors with his 70 yard major, Aksum Polk added insurance for the Warriors with 13 yard touchdown.
Polk rushed for 125 yards on 14 carries while Brtisovich completed 11 passes in 15 attempts and two touchdowns for the victors. Kyle Crooks led the team in tackles with six.
As for the Falcons, Theriault rushed for 120 yards on 15 carries. Thomas Balser led the defence with eight tackles.

Warriors first OFSAA Football Bowl win
CFC#2 WF HERMAN GREEN GRIFFINS (SWOSSAA) 56, FRONTENAC FALCONS (EOSSAA) 3:
#CFC100 Jalen Jackson tallied three majors, including a 55 yard punt return as CFC#2 and South Western Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (SWOSSAA) representative WF Herman Green Griffins crushed Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) representative Frontenac Falcons 56-3 in the National Capital Bowl.
Cody Holmes, Brendon McCrainey, Michael Beale and Kaine Stevenson also scored for the Green Griffins. Holmes also led the team in tackles with three.
For the Falcons, Alec Ferland registered six tackles in the loss.
This victory is the fourth consecutive and sixth in seven appearances for Green Griffins.

CFC#7 ST. ROCH RAVENS (ROPSSAA) 20, ADAM SCOTT LIONS (COSSA) 7:
Deandre Rose connected with #CFC100 Tyrell Richards for a 37 yard touchdown to snap a tie in the third quarter as CFC#7 and Region of Peel Secondary School Athletic Association (ROPSSAA) representative St. Roch Ravens won the Central Bowl by defeating Central Ontario Secondary School Association (COSSA) representative Adam Scott Lions 20-7.
The Lions tallied their lone major of the game when Jack Knox found Daniel Challice for a six yard major in the first quarter to put the Lions ahead.
Malcolm Miller’s seven yard score gave the Ravens a 7-6 advantage heading into halftime.
After Knox had a rouge to tie the game in the third quarter, Rose hit Richards with the game winning major. Miller added his second touchdown of the game in the final game to give the Ravens added insurance.
Moreover, Miller amassed 133 yards on 21 carries for the Ravens. Akheem Edwards had six tackles to lead the Ravens defence.
As for the Lions, Max Maloney registered six tackles.
This OFSAA Bowl win was the first in the Ravens’ history.
