The Gators now hold sole possession of first place in the Tier One loop as they turned back the previously undefeated Saints 26-7.  CJ Stephens and Andrew Smith, each picked up their fourth touchdown of the season while Mannie Quainoo added a third major for Wilson.   Drew Pottle replied with a six-pointer for Paul Dwyer. Holden Bennett’s twenty-one yard first quarter touchdown reception paced the Holy Trinity Titans to their first win of the season over the winless Senior Trojans.  Brandon Joachim would add a major in the final minute on a ten yard run.  The sure footed Joe Mastromarco converted both touchdowns and added a 19 yard field goal. A field goal by Ben Donnelly proved to be the difference as Eastdale prevailed over a stubborn Rebel team, who remain winless through two games.  The Eagles with back to back wins were paced by Josh Cousins with two touchdowns and one from Ian Ross.  Rebel touchdowns were scored by Chad Cleverton (two) and Trent Mugford. The Red Hawks rolled to a decisive win over the Bowmanville Talons.  Renowned for their defensive style of football, the Red Hawks have tallied 59 scoring points through two games this season.  Dylan Hall (with three) and Trey Campbell combined for five majors while Callum Cove scored one for the second consecutive game. The Monarchs appear to be enjoying Tier Two as touchdowns by Nathaniel Fermin, Raishaun Provo (with two) and Josh Henry were bookended by field goals of 31 and 19 yards by Tyler Decarlos.  The win was the first for St. Mary since the 2010 season.  In addition to his two field goals, Decarlos was perfect on all four convert attempts. Paced by a two touchdown effort by Nasaire Wallace, the Rams continued their early season domination with a 45-0 victory over the previously undefeated Cougars.  Ajax has outscored their opposition 96-0 through their first two games.  Other majors were recorded by Branley Benedetto, Jake Van Pelt, Triston Smith and Marcus Brissett. Garrett Arsenault and Myles McPherson, each had passing touchdowns while Sanjay Francis ran for two second half majors as the Celtics remain undefeated.  With the Royals trailing 20-7 late in the fourth quarter, Donovan Delgrande returned a Celtic fumble 102 yards to start a three touchdown outburst in the final three minutes. A twenty-nine yard punt by Tarrick Brissett in the final quarter proved to be the only scoring in a mistake filled tightly defensive contest.  Brissett’s punt traveled ten yards deep into the end zone.  A valiant effort by by Tyler McGregor to return the ball out of the end zone was stopped mere inches short of the goal line by Kyeree Reynolds. Donald A. Wilson (1-2) 29, Paul Dwyer (0-3) 13Jordan Grimes three touchdown effort gave the three time defending champion Junior Gators their first win of the season as they downed the Saints 29-13.  The speedy Daiten Rhone accounted for the fourth Wilson touchdown while Randy O’Connor and Avery Gibbes replied for Paul Dwyer, who remain winless through three games. O’Neill (1-2) 27, Uxbridge (0-3) 6 The Red Hawks downed Uxbridge 27-6 in a match featuring two teams who were both seeking their first win of the season.  Isaiah Motley contributed two touchdowns for O’Neill with support from both Keyon Fortin and Philip Cooper-Smith, each of whom had one.  Sean Morley replied with lone major for the Tigers who fell to 0-3. J. Clarke Richardson (3-0) 47, Bowmanville (1-2) 22

The Storm recorded their third consecutive win as they defeated the Talons 47-22.  Tevin Lawrence led the Richardson scoring with a twenty point game (three touchdowns and two converts) while J’Van Manhertz scored two.  Nick Hogg led the Talons in scoring with a two touchdown effort.  The combined total of 69 points was a season high. A two interception effort by Tyler McNicholl enabled the Royals to prevail 14-13.  His first interception gave the Royals a 14-0 led while his second pick in the final minute ended the Rams hopes for a fourth quarter come from behind victory.  Evan Reece also scored a touchdown for the victors while Omon Edobar scored both Ajax majors. Eastdale and Uxbridge exchanged touchdowns, however the Eagles were able to add converts on both their majors to escape with a narrow two point victory over the Tigers.  Chris Desouza scored both majors for Eastdale who remain undefeated, while Daniel Vierra and Own Hatchwell replied for Uxbridge. Cole Burton’s convert proved to be the difference as the Talons edged by the Red Hawks 10-9.  Burton also posted a field goal while Chase Corneau recorded a touchdown.  Julio Oliveros with a field goal and Will Wawzeruk with a touchdown replied for O”Neill.  The win by Bowmanville leveled their record at a win and a loss. Two first half touchdowns by George Goudogianis and James Yoshida powered the Storm to their second consecutive win to open the season thereby spoiling the Royals 2012 season debut in Bowmanville.  Goudogianis added a convert following Yoshida’s major to up his point total to twenty-two for the season.
