Ontario (York): Come-from-behind victory for Warriors (CFC ‘HM’) over Lions (CFC #17)

The Huron Heights Warriors and King City Lions faced off in a battle for first-place in York region football.  The Lions have won the region title the last 2 seasons while the Warriors have not won since 2008, the last year of a 4-year run.
The game had an auspicious start for the Warriors when they fumbled on the first play of their first possession (own 35 yard line).  The Lions capitalized, and after a successful 2-point attempt, went up 8 to 0 before most fans had sat in their seats.  The Lions extended their lead to 15 to 0 not long after.
The Warriors finally got on the board with a 2 point safety.  The Warriors shot themselves in the foot with some timely turnovers in the red zone in the first half.
The second half saw the Warriors re-group, led by QB/DB Kaleb Scott (Team Ontario East) who had 2 touchdowns and a defensive interception.  The Warriors completed the comeback and came out on top 18 to 15.
Expect to see these two teams in the York region final in the coming weeks.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
