Throughout his gridiron career, Philip Charpentier has built up a resume loaded with experience.

Among the teams he has suited up for include Gatineau Vikings, Ottawa Myers Riders of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) and RSEQ Juvenile Division 2B’s Arsenal Nouvelle –Frontieres.

During his journey, Charpentier has savoured the opportunity of assuming a leadership role via the pivot position.

“I play quarterback because I like what the position involves: being the leader of the offence, having to know what everybody needs to do and things like that,” elaborated Charpentier, who will be beginning a stint with CEGEP Division 3 team Lanaudiere Triades this upcomng fall. “It’s also a challenge because you have lots of pressure on game days and you need to put up a show.”

While it is not lost on him the tremendous responsibility that comes with the role, he is a humble quarterback.

“I’m not the type of guy that will be on the field and having an attitude; I play with respect because I respect the game and I want it to be as best as possible,” explained Charpentier.  “I also never brag about myself when questioned about my football abilities.”

Moreover, Charpentier is relentless when it comes to honing his skills with the ultimate goal of achieving success on the gridiron.

“I work extremely hard on and off the field,” added the pivot.  “In the gym or on the gridiron, I go full out to be in the best position possible the help the team to win.”

Charpentier has modelled his playing style two NFL pivots – Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers) and Cam Newton (Carolina Panthers).

“Aaron is the type of guy that is so close to being perfect and he has that desire to make his team win,” expressed the Gatineau pivot.  “Newton is just amazing; I just like him in general.”

“I’m looking forward in learning new things and getting better at QB Canada,” commented the pivot. “I can’t wait to be able to put to practice things I’ll learn there.”

For Charpentier, all his experiences set him up in his quest to realize his ultimate gridiron dream.

“My ultimate goal is being an NFL quarterback but what I always want to achieve is helping the team I play for to win a championship,” commented Charpentier.  “Winning is always the main goal.”
