RECAP: Auger powers CFC#34 Steelhawks to OFSAA Bowl victory [stats]

Jeff Auger tallied three majors and rushed for 203 yards to guide CFC#34 Superior Heights Steelhawks to a 26-7 victory over CFC#21 St. Joan of Arc Knights in OFSAA Bowl action earlier today.

Brett MacDonald added a rouge and a 19 yard field goal to give the Steelhawks a 4-0 lead in the second quarter.  Soon after, Auger scored his first touchdown as sprinted into the end zone for a 23 yard score.

Before halftime, the Knights would get on the scoreboard as pivot Cody Shaw connected with Mitchell French for an 18 yard touchdown reception.

At halftime, the Steelhawks enjoyed an 11-7 lead over the Knights.

In the fourth quarter, Auger scored two consecutive touchdowns – 1:28 apart.   His two majors (one yard and three yards) put the game out of reach for the Knights.

Jared Coombs led the Steelhawks defence with five tackles.

For the Knights, Devin McQuirk rushed for 80 yards on 17 carries and had 40 yards on two receptions. Cam Yearwood registered five tackles in the loss.
