Soucy helped CEGEP Division 1 team, Vieux-Montreal Spartiates to the Bol D’Or Championship in 2014.  Moreover, the offensive standout was named the Spartiates Offensive MVP this past year.  He was also a part of the Team Quebec squad that won the gold medal at the 2013 Football Canada Cup in Moncton, New Brunswick.

One of the main reasons he chose the Redmen was the opportunity to work once again with Head Coach Ron Hilaire.

“He coached me at Team Québec and I enjoyed having him as a coach; he pushes everyone to get better everyday,” said the receiver.  “I’m happy to play for him, I like what he did with the program and the recruitment so far!”

“Coach Ron brings a winning mentality to the program.”

Additionally, the chance to work with Offensive Coordinator Benoit Groulx appealed to him.

“Coach Ben Groulx was a big factor of my commitment he’s known as an Offensive Guru,” elaborated Soucy.  “I know him since my high school days we both played for the same highschool and CEGEP team.”

“I worked and made some video session with him and I learned a lot from him. He can help me to bring my game to an other level.”

Finally, the receiver hopes to once again rekindle the offensive magic with another Redmen recruit – #CFC100 pivot Frederic Paquette-Perreault.

“We played together the last three years for the Spartiates and at Team Quebec,” expressed Soucy.  “We developed a great chemistry on the field and also a great friendship together.”
