Sherbrooke reminds WR Plourde of home

Sherbrooke adds a commit from Québec to their Class of 2018.

Entranced by his surroundings, Philippe Plourde, a wide receiver from Cégep Lévis-Lauzon, won’t feel out of place when he joins the Sherbrooke Vert & Or.

When Plourde visited Sherbrooke, there was an air of familiarity with what will one day be his home. Currently living in Lévis, Québec, for school, he is a former resident of Chicoutimi in Saguenay, Québec.

“From my first visit, I felt home there (in Sherbrooke). It looks like Lévis and Saguenay and the team spirit is awesome,” Plourde said.

Standing at 6’3, 190lbs, the receiver was also impressed by who would be his future coaches. He said that the wide receiver coach, Simon Carbonneau Champeau, has an extensive football background, including a stint in the CFL, which will benefit him.

“I really like Coach Brent’s mentality and his play style fit me well,” Plourde added. “And finally, Head Coach Mathieu Lecompte is passionate and I know he can bring me and the team to the top!”

Currently considering the bilingual administration program, Plourde said the co-op opportunity was “more than interesting.”

Before joining the Les Faucons du Cégep de Lévis-Lauzon (RSEQ Division 1), he played for Les Mustangs de L’odyssée Dominique-Racine in high school.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
