Concordia adds two local commits and one out-of-province commit to their 2019 class.
For defensive end Sheldon Desir from Mother Teresa High School, committing to the Concordia Stingers made a lot of sense.
CFC60 Wael Nasri, a defensive lineman from Cégep du Vieux Montréal, and MC Farland Chauvel, a lineman from Collège Ahuntsic, will also be joining the Stingers.

It’s time for Sheldon Desir to return home. “I chose this team because it was the best option for me and it was the city I was born in, so I have my family on my side,” Desir said.
Speaking of family, he added that, “The coaching staff really introduced me to a family vibe, and everyone is there to make you better and not worry about the hype of the school.”
Desir will be taking leisure sciences in university. The 5’11, 230lbs defensive end has played for the Mother Teresa Titans (NCSSAA), the Bel Air Norsemen (NCAFA), the Ottawa Sooners (OPFL) and the Ottawa Junior Riders (QMFL). Desir, who is from Ottawa, Ontario, participated in the 2017 Fox 40 Prospect Challenge.
“Football runs through the family,” Desir said. “I had an uncle play for Iowa and my father play cégep. I also have a cousin (who) plays high school football in Florida.”

Wael Nasri likes what the Stingers are all about. “This school was the best compromise for me (and) allows me to continue my studies while playing football and achieve my goals,” Nasri said, who is interested in leisure science. “I have (also) heard about a new coaching staff in defence (and) heard good stuff about (the) coaches, so I’m excited to work with them.”
Nasri currently calls Montréal, Québec home where he played with Les Spartiates du Cégep du Vieux Montréal (RSEQ Division 1). Before that he lived in France where he suited up for Les Giants de Saint-Étienne and for Les Falcons de Bron-Villeurbanne (AFI). Standing at 5’11, 225lbs, he plays as a middle linebacker and defensive end.

MC Farland Chauvel
MC Farland Chauvel is also from Montréal. The 6’0, 265lbs tackle and guard played with Les Indiens du Collège Ahuntsic (RSEQ Division 3).
