WOLFE: The 100% conundrum … Advice on how to consistently improve

Listening post-game to the winning team members, they often won because they gave 110%. What would have happened if their opponents gave 111% or 200%? You’ll sometimes hear statements such as, “I am 1000% certain of  …”

The objective of this article is to debate the actual max percentage and how small increments add up.

A good starting point would be my definition of giving 100%. It seems that if an athlete gives all they have – that is giving 100%. Sports Psych specialists have phrased it, “a true 100% effort is a complete physical effort combined with an optimal mental state.”
