Calvin has been playing football for five years and is a tall strong armed quarterback with precision accuracy.
He earned his first quarterback position in his sophomore year playing for the South Lakes Seahawks in Virginia. He was awarded Most Improved Player that year and also made the All-District team.
This year he also experienced his most memorable football experience which was throwing his first varsity touchdown pass.
“I was overcome with emotion and for the first time I had felt like my efforts had paid off,” adds Calvin.
After moving to Canada in the summer of his grade 11 year he began attending St. Michaels College where he proudly plays for the Kerry Blues. “
I play for my school’s ball team to stay in shape in the off season, other than that I try to throw as often as possible and keep in good football shape,” says Calvin. “I work out as often as possible, once ball season is over you can find me in the weight room or on the field in my spare time.”
He plans to attend university and would be extremely thankful if he was blessed with another four years of football.
The most influential person in Calvin’s life has been god.
“There is tons of pressure to conform to social norms of today, but being in the presence of the lord, there is no other feeling,” says Calvin. “In terms of football, the most influential people have been my coaches, and my parents, and Tim Tebow, after reading his biography “through my eyes” my perception of hard work leadership and how to approach the game as a quarterback was revolutionized.”
The recruiting process has been “okay” for Calvin as he’s had interest shown in him from Carleton, Wilfrid Laurier, Toronto and Ottawa. He plans on visiting Carleton in the New Year.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
