Mont-Saint-Hilare running back newest recruit to join RSEQ team’s 2015 class.
Gabriel Polan liked the atmosphere of the Sherbrooke Vert et Or.
As a result, the 6’2, 225 pound running back from Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec has committed to the team for the 2015 RSEQ season.
In addition to the ambience, the strength of the football program as well as the opportunity to make an early impact were also decisive factors.
“I have chosen Sherbrooke for the excellent football program,” explained Polan of his decision. “The ambiance is really positive and I loved the way the other players have welcomed me.”
“The coaches made me confident about my future at this university and they showed me that I will have all the support that I need. Also, I picked that place because it’s a team where I can have a direct impact in my first year if I put in the effort. But the most important factor is that I feel good by going at Sherbrooke – I have no fear because I know that everyone there will help me if I need it and I am sure that it is the place where I will have a lot of fun by playing football.”
Recently, the running back led CEGEP Division 2 team Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Geants to the Bol D’Or Championship. Polan was named Bol D’Or MVP as he rushed for 238 yards on 38 carries and scored a touchdown. This past season, he had 7.2 yards per carry.
Polan began his gridiron career at the age of six with the Richelieu Pirates.
