NOTRE DAME JUGGLERS AT VANCOUVER COLLEGE FIGHTING IRISH
Friday, November 1 – O’Hagan Field (Vancouver College)
Kickoff at 2 PM
Game broadcast online at www.bchighschoolfootball.com
The Archbishops’ Trophy game is one of the oldest traditions in all of BC High School Football and for the last decade the trophy itself has been almost the exclusive property of the Vancouver College Fighting Irish.
The Irish (5-2; 3-2) have won nine consecutive Archbishop’s Trophy games and will be looking to make it 10 in a row this Friday when they host the Notre Dame Jugglers (2-6; 1-4) in the 57th annual Archbishop’s Trophy battle between the two clubs. A win for the Irish would set the new record for longest win streak in the series breaking the record that Vancouver College set themselves from 1957 to 1965 when the series first started.
While the series has traditionally been close – the Irish hold a slight 29-26-1 edge – the same can’t be said of the two teams this season. While the Irish have been routinely in the top rankings and come into the contest riding a two-game win streak, the Jugglers have struggled all season long managing just a single regular season victory to date.
The Irish have their playoff spot locked up but the Jugglers could still sneak in to the playoff picture if they manage to pull an upset in their season finale.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
