Elie Bouka is headed to Arizona.
After not getting picked during the NFL Draft this weekend, the 6’1, 205 pound defensive back from Laval, Quebec signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
Last month, Bouka was brought down by the Cardinals for a visit.
This is a silver lining for the defensive back after he was sidelined during the 2015 CWUAA season after sustaning a Achilles injury during the Calgary Dinos training camp last fall.
Despite the setback, the injury has not unfazed him and teams have been interested. Recently, the Arizona Cardinals brought Bouka down for a visit. Currently, the defensive standout is working hard so he can get clearance from his medical team so he can be in a position to test in front of interested teams at the end of April before the NFL Draft.
At last year’s CIS East-West Bowl, Bouka clocked the fastest 40 yard dash (4.41, 4,47).
In last month’s final release of the CFL’s Scouting Bureau Rankings, the defensive back was ranked 18th.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
