BC High School Notable Performances: Kankolongo & Poitras continue offensive tears

BC HIGH SCHOOL NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

• Terry Fox RB Jeremie Kankolongo had 24 carries for 204 yards and two touchdowns, while RB Taylor Poitras had 20 carries for 127 yards and one touchdown in a 31-18 win over Mt. Boucherie. Kankolongo also added seven tackles, a sack, and an interception on defence.
• Mission RB Joeda Cannon led his team with 122 rushing yards as part of a 10-6 win over Pitt Meadows. Thomas Janke scored the team’s lone touchdown, while Ethan Homan kicked a 30-yard field goal.
• Prince George RB Isaac Rogers rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns while also scoring off a 90-yard fake punt, while RB Trent Price rushed for 129 yards and three scores in a 50-13 win over Duchess Park.
• New Westminster QB Nick Hauka went 6-for-10 for 117 yards and one touchdown, and also had six carries for 68 yards and two TDs in a 55-44 win over Notre Dame. RB Gurvir Ghuman had five carries for 133 yards finding the end zone twice, while also recording six tackles on defence (including one for a loss). RB Trew Dancey had 10 carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns, one pass reception for 60 yards and a touchdown, and also added seven tackles (2 for loss) and two sacks on defence.
• Argyle QB Cole Theobald threw two TD passes, and scored on a QB sneak in a 28-6 win over Salmon Arm. RB Christian Lawry, in addition to catching a TD pass, also had a 99-yard touchdown run.
• Handsworth Royals QB Sam Tholl threw a pair of touchdown passes – one to REC Jacob Ghazizadeh (22 yards) and another to REC Stephen Miller (25 yards) – as part of a 24-14 come-from-behind win over West Vancouver. Julian Wilhelmson had a 25-yard pick six in the game as well.
• West Vancouver RB Riley Burns rushed for 86 yards and one touchdown in a 24-14 loss to Handsworth.
• Seaquam QB Tristan Yanciew threw a pair of touchdown passes in a 27-23 win over Rutland. RB Masaki Kawanami had a 85-yard TD rush, while RB Austin Blum had an 8-yard TD reception to go with a 20-yard rushing score.
• Lord Tweedsmuir RB Drey Blair had nine carries for 81 yards and two touchdowns, while RB Colton Zayshley had 15 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-28 win over WJ Mouat.
• WJ Mouat RB Dion Pellerin had 13 carries for 177 yards and two touchdowns in a 37-28 loss to Lord Tweedsmuir.
• South Delta REC Michael Calvert threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to REC Grant McDonald, and caught two touchdown passes of 21 and 53 yards from QB Kyle Chacein 37-7 win over Belmont.
• GW Graham RB Von Richardson rushed for 214 yards and had a four-yard touchdown in a 23-22 win over Abbotsford.
• Abbotsford QB John Madigan threw for 191 yards and two scores, including a 45-yarder to REC Chase Claypool, in a 23-22 loss to GW Graham. REC Reese Morrisonhad five catches for 54 yards, while RB Richard Tshimpaka rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown, and added seven tackles and a sack on defence.
• Hugh Boyd RB Gabe Saklofsky scored all four of his team’s majors in a 27-0 win over Moscrop. He had 10 carries for 242 yards and three touchdowns, and added his fourth on a 35-yard pick six on the first play of the game.
• John Barsby RB Matt Cooley and RB Justis Mackay-Topley each had a pair of touchdowns in a 46-6 win over Holy Cross.
• Robert Bateman LB Devin Sidhu had a fumble recovery touchdown and a pick-six as part of a 54-0 win over Rick Hansen.
• Carson Graham RB Flynn Heyes had seven carries for 150 yards and two touchdowns, while QB Tyler Nylander threw two touchdown strikes to REC Noah MacInnis and rushed for another in a 40-6 win over Windsor.
• Valleyview RB Brooks Miller rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown, while QB Hunter Koopmans rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in a 24-6 win over Clarence Fulton.
• Vancouver College REC Aidan Fay caught two passes for 70 yards, including a 57-yard TD, in a 20-0 win over Mt. Douglas. Fellow REC Rysen John had four catches for 72 yards. RB Jasper Schiedel had 83 yards and a score, while RB Michael Le had 81 yards.
• Mt. Douglas RB Declann Michielin led his team with 60 rushing yards in a 2-0-0 loss to Vancouver College.
• Langley RB Azuka Okoli rushed for over 100 yards on just 10 carries, scoring twice, in a 50-0 win over Frank Hurt. DL Ryan Alcos had a 35-yard fumble recovery TD in the game.
