BCFC ‘BC Lions’ POW #4: Ybarra, Rush, MacDonald

The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce its “BC Lions Players of the Week” for Week 4 of the season.

The VI Raiders had their most productive game this season with a 56-3 victory over the Valley Huskers.  Rookie quarterback Jamie Ybarra had the best game of his young career, completing eight of 14 for 218 yards and threw five touchdown passes.  He would also run once for a 51 yard gain.  After his performance, he has been named the “BC Lions Offensive Player of the Week.”

The Okanagan Sun won their four straight in Week 4 with a 23-8 victory in Kamloops.  The Sun defense didn’t allow a point in the second half as they were led by the “BC Lions Defensive Player of the Week” free safety Jack Rush.  He would make five tackles, force a fumble, recover a fumble and made two interceptions.  It’s the second time Rush has won this award this season.

The Langley Rams remained undefeated in Week 4 after another dominating win over the Westshore Rebels.  Adding to the scoring for the Rams was the “BC Lions Special Teams Player of the Week,” returner Ryan MacDonald.  He would return a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown and run back three punts for 52 yards.

Week 5 in the BCFC will see just two games as the Okanagan Sun host the Langley Rams and the Kamloops Broncos welcome in the VI Raiders.  The Westshore Rebels and Valley Huskers have the week off.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
